A.M. Presentation: “Recent Developments in the Care and Support of Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders; Autism Legislation, the Medicaid Autism Benefit, the MI Autism Council, and the Autism State Plan”
This presentation will inform participants of the new state policies for autism services and supports in the state of Michigan and to present the MI ASD State Plan and Council initiatives related to clinical service and educational focus areas.
P.M. Presentation: “The Administration of Programs and Services for Students with ASD”
This presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of the START intensive training components. This module will suggest strategies for positive administrative support of effective practices in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Expected outcomes for administrators include a general understanding of the START Project, guiding principles, and strategies for positively responding to students with ASD to support their educational and social growth. The module outlines clear expectations for staff working with students with ASD.
