Amanda Unger
Assistant Director of Special Education
West Shore Educational Service District
Professional Bio
I was fortunate to begin my career in education as a special education resource program teacher at the elementary level. After seven years as a teacher, I became a special education supervisor at the ISD level where I supervised ECSE programs, transition programs, was a center-based principal, and supervised EI and ASD programs housed in local districts for three years. When I met my husband we moved our blended family to Montague where I am on the local school board. I have worked at West Shore ESD since 2015 where I have supervised all areas/programs within special education and most recently have become the planner/monitor as well as special education supervisor for the school psychology and behavior intervention departments as well as supervision of the transition coordinator. It is an honor to work for such a worthy cause as helping to ensure that all students are able to learn to their full potential!
