Jeff Butler Scholarship Award
The Jeff Butler scholarship will be provided to a MAASE member in their first or second year of employment as a special education administrator to be used for professional learning and mentoring. The scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000, which can support registration fees for MAASE Summer Institute, MAASE Tuesday Professional Learning or General Membership Meetings. An alternative professional learning opportunity may be approved, if in alignment with MAASE’s priorities.
Applicant and Submission Criteria:
Applicants are required to be an individual currently employed by a school district in Michigan. The individual must be a current MAASE member who is in their first or second year of employment in their initial administrative role.
To apply, the applicant must complete an application demonstrating the following:

A letter of support from the candidate’s supervisor

Two letters of recommendation
If applicants meet all of the above criteria and the number of applicants exceeds the amount of financial support available, applicants will be selected based on their submitted application and letters of recommendation stating how they reflect the characteristics of the award.

Deadline for application is September 15th
Award winners will be recognized at the October General Membership Meeting
